Ancient Civilization REALM


G RAND OPENING MAY 2006.

 This new area is located just behind our Medieval Realm. We will be concentrating on bringing students a "hands on" experience that transcends time. Students will be able to immerse themselves in many interactive activities involving many civilizations (Rome, Greek, Mayan, Aztec, Egypt, & China), such as:
  1. Participating in an Excavation site
  2. Witnessing an Aztec Sacrificial Ritual
  3. Joining in on the Egyptian Mummification Process
  4. Playing the Mayan Ball Game
  5. Taking part in a Greek play
  6. Time Line featuring various Scaled Pyramid & Architectural Models
  7. Jungle Cat World featuring various animals
  8. Roman Gladiator Spectacle

A n Ancient Civilzation character operates each area.  Depending on the area, they will give a brief description about the topic, and then let the students try the activity.  

This 4 hour experience will bring the Grade 5 Ancient Civilizations Unit to Life! The full day of activities culminates with a 45 minute Gladiator Spectacle. Four Gladiators enter the tournament fighting for their right to win the acclaimed "wooden sword" and win their Freedom.
 

A teacher will be chosen as the Roman Emperor as he/she oversees the citizens as they cheer their favourite gladiator on to victory!

 

Blades of Glory opened the Medieval Realm in May 2003.   Our Mobile School Presentation (Knight School and Ancient Civilization) has travelled to 448 schools across the province of Ontario in the past four years, while 87 Schools have visited our Medieval Realm in the past three years. We have taught more than 40,000 students in the past four years.

~    Cost/person: $25 (includes GST).
~    There are portable washrooms on site.
